Comoro archipelago :   Ngazidja informations

The archipelago is also called ‘Perfumes ‘islands' or ‘Moon's islands'. It is made up of four islands located on the western Ocean Indian:

  • Ngazidja (1,148 square km)
  • Mwali (290 square km)
  • Ndzuani (424 km)

Those ones are independent since July 6 th 1975.

Maore (374 square km) is linked to France and will become an overseas french department in 2011.

  • Sea ground with a numerous corals and different fishes species which the famous ‘Coelacanth', laying world site for green turtles, seasonal passage of whales, many dolphins constantly, sea having many spiny lobsters, shrimps and crabs.
